The Inch Cape project is a major offshore wind project off the east coast of Scotland with a capacity of up to 1.1GW.
As Principal Contractor, Forth Ports is responsible for:
- Compliance with relevant HS&E legislation.
- Managing site logistics and marine coordination.
- Overseeing the storage, handling, and loadout of all project components and equipment.
- Delivering safe, efficient operations in collaboration with the Inch Cape project team.
Our motto is Work Safe, Home Safe, Every day.
- Safety is a core value; it is at the heart of everything we do and critical to our success.
- Safety performance and business performance go hand in hand.
- Learning our lessons today and continually improving the way we work will help us to deliver industry leading safety performance.
- Success will be determined by the performance of us all and not dependent on individuals. With collaboration and transparency, a culture of trust will be created.
- SAFETY will always be our F1RST consideration. We work together as 1 Team with 1 Goal, to Work Safe, Home Safe, Every day. This is both our mission and fundamental to our business performance.
In addition to our safety mission, our Vision for site safety includes the following:
- Everyone sets very high safety standards and attempts to exceed them because they care about the safety of themselves and their colleagues.
- We all know that to stop at-risk behaviors and deal with unsafe conditions is the right thing to do and that we have the backing of leadership to do this.
- We acknowledge that even minor problems can quickly escalate into life-threatening failures so we will all be vigilant, fully alert, all the time.
- Everyone accepts their accountability for safe execution and makes a safe part of every personal, operational and business decision.
All third party personnel are required to have completed the online safety induction prior to entering the marshalling site. This is required in line with Forth Ports Limited policy and governing construction legal requirements as part of the Construction, Design & Management (CDM) regulations 2015.
Please ensure the online induction presentation has been reviewed a minimum of 48 hours before site attendance. All individuals attending site must view the presentation. Each person attending site is also required to complete the online induction form which can be found at the foot of this page.
Our 8 Life Saving and Site Rules set clear safety expectations and are attached here.
Our Life Saving Rules set clear safety expectations, cover the most significant risks in our business and are aimed at ensuring we all go home safe. They are simple, comprehensive and they are not optional. They also allow us to:
- Challenge unsafe acts, unsafe conditions or unsafe requests.
- Help other port users to follow the safety standards we expect.
- Collaboratively share safety concerns and lessons learned.
It doesn’t matter where we work e.g. on a quayside, in a workshop, on floating craft or in an office, we will always abide by our Lifesaving Rules.
If you are ever asked to break or ignore any of the rules, you should say no.
All visitors must comply with the site PPE rules, attached here and ensure they bring their own PPE whilst visiting.
Failure to adhere to these rules may result in removal from site.
